Some campus green space will soon turn into two new multi-sport courts and a grass volleyball court. The multi-sport courts located right in front of Old Main will be intended for pickleball, basketball, volleyball and ball hockey.

Construction of the courts is expected to be completed mid-September, according to an announcement sent to the TRU community on Friday, August 5.

Trees currently located on the lawns outside Old Main will be relocated elsewhere on campus.

“It is hoped that they will provide an additional venue for sports camps and for residents and families of future Community Trust developments,” the announcement reads.

New residential developments under the TRU Community Trust have been slated for the corner of Summit and McGill and behind Old Main.

They three courts will be be the first new recreation areas added to campus since 2007, according to the announcement.
